Wow, life really brings to some people more than their share of hardship. What does you theology say about such a turn of things?

I'm not sure how to answer that question... but I do know that the Bible repeatedly encourages us to "endure hardship" and "rejoice in suffering" etc, etc. Seems to be a Biblical theology includes "suffering" as a means of grace that God uses to mold and shape our character. Not that God causes sickness or disease, but that he "redeems" the result of sin.
